The long-awaited updated Ethereum platform, Ethereum 2.0, is finally expected to be released on September 15-16. The key element of the platform includes Ethereum ditching the Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus model and using Proof-of-Stake (PoS) instead. The changes include new mechanisms to make the network more scalable, secure, and sustainable. After much hesitation, the merge was initially supposed to take place in August. However, Finally, the network set its upgrade to transpire next month. However, the proposition was delayed over struggling booting out miners and bugs. Let's hope the merge rolls out as planned; otherwise, Ethereum's reputation may be on the line. |
